BEFORE + AFTER: Client Second Times a Charm

June 1, 2016

It’s Before and After time friends!!!!!

OK, So normally I bombard you with the entire house all in one go, but I am going to try a little something different this time and split the whole house into parts!  There is a lot of house to cover…and basically I find my super long before and after posts really annoying, so you must also, HA!

I rarely give you a full backstory with our projects, but in this case it was such an interesting one, I think its worth repeating. We were essentially hired to clean up another designers work, and so the majority of the house was already done as you will see in some of the “Befores”.  Unfortunately the clients weren’t thrilled with the first go round with the interiors and really wanted something different. It was definitely a little tough on the clients (an awkward for me) to hire another designer RIGHT after they just wrapped up working with one, but the clients were really good sports and were willing to do what it took to make their home exactly what they envisioned.  They wanted the house to feel a little formal, a little beachy, but all the while super cozy, so we tried to give them just that and I think we made it happen!

Lets get to this shall we? #clientsecondtimesacharm

  1. Beautiful work. I was wondering if you ever share details on what you purchased, like rugs for instance. Or even wall colors, etc. It seems like most questions go unanswered. I’d love to know where your diamond patterned rug was purchased. It’s dreamy and I’ve been searching for so long (I’m exhausted!) and would love a point in the right direction. Thanks!

  2. I absolutely love your designs. You master the art of combining laid back/ boho to chic decor. You inspire me to become a designer.

  3. From the before and afters it seems very clear the first go round was not tailored to the clients taste! I love the way you completely changed the entire vibe of the home without too much of high cost renovations. For example, I think the rug that covers the tile in the formal living room is genius rather than trying to demo it!

  4. Beautiful and thoughtful design reflecting your clients desires. So skillful!
Would love to know the source for large wood coffee table and pair of open backed chairs in the family room. Excellent design!

  5. What a difference! The first house looked like an unfinished staged home. That living room with those gray sofas and mirror end tables. Ugh. You did an absolutely amazing job. Would love to know the source of the family room sofa. I feel like I know it but can’t play it, and those divine dining chairs in kitchen! They look like the Wisteria dining chair perhaps covered?

  6. I just found your page through MyDomaine.com! Wow- how inspiring your work is. I really enjoy your before and after posts like this one, and the artist spotlight. Congrats on Marie Claire! I am sure more success will come!

  7. I commend your interior design of a house that has some seriously funky-not-in-a-good-way architectural “features”. As an architect, I weep when I see houses with such grab bag “design”. Oh how about a random arch window over here, a nonsense coffered ceiling over there… Oy.
