If you didn’t follow along with my New York City trip on Instagram, then you missed out big time! Two weeks ago, I flew out for a long weekend to attend Delta® Faucet‘s design-elite event celebrating Cooper Hewitt’s National Design Week – An Evening of Design Discovery with design legend Nate Berkus. I don’t normally go to such glitzy & glamorous events, so I was thrilled to be a part of the whole shebang! I even got to hang out with my friends Emily Henderson, Robert & Christina from New Darlings, and Coco from CocoCozy. The event took place at the Cooper-Hewitt Smithsonian Design museum, which happens to be the only museum in the nation entirely devoted to historic and contemporary design. Talk about the perfect setting for such an inspirational event based on design and all its possibilities. Delta Faucet has always been such a forward-thinking brand, it’s exciting to see what direction they’re steering towards with their innovations. I’ve actually been thinking back to the event to gain inspiration for upcoming projects – How do I make my designs timeless to withstand decades to come? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see! In the long run, I try not to take myself too seriously on a daily basis, and focus on making friggin’ awesome homes for my clients – who I love so so SO dearly.
In the long run, if you’re trying to be successful in design… don’t take yourself too seriously, try to push boundaries, and if you make mistakes fess up and learn from ’em people! To wrap this post up, New York was awesome and I already can’t wait to go back. Every single time I visit that city, it’s better than the last! Big shoutout to my homies at Delta® Faucet for keepin’ it real and including me – I was pinching myself the whole time!
